Reusing e-waste to make new products
E-waste is a major health hazard in most households in India, but its effect is hugely underestimated. We all keep old electronics in our homes, but don't know how to dispose of these or are attached to some of our gadgets.
The service addresses the e-waste situation for the domestic users in the city, as e-waste collectors never get e-waste from houses due to lack of government incentives and the higher profits made by contracts with IT industries for supplying old electronics.
ePunarJanam attempts to tackle e-waste in an innovative way, by asking people to donate items and converting their e-waste into less harmful but usable products which they can get back for a price. If people give away their e-waste, ePunarjanam will make products for use by NGOs or sell funky reused e-waste accessories or products in the market.
My assignment was to understand the main nuances of service design and understand the vital tools to make the service experience seamless across all touchpoints.
